Inspired by Ooh.com’s recent post I thought I would compile a list of what I considered to be amazing honeymoon activities. I am constantly searching for new and exciting honeymoon ideas that differ from spending day after day lazing on a yellow sand beach. Holiday-goers definitely want more for their money nowadays, including memories that last a lifetime and the kind of holiday that they know their friends won’t have already experienced.
For an inspirational honeymoon, look no further than my list of amazing honeymoon activities!
Gorilla Trekking in Uganda
Every honeymoon should have a highlight, and I’m not just talking about a romantic stroll on the beach – I’m talking adventure! Gorilla Trekking in Uganda was one activity that really stood out to me and was sure to be one of the most amazing wildlife experiences in the world.
As these magnificent Gorillas move daily in their groups, you can never tell whether you will spot them 15 minutes into your trek or whether it may take 8 hours. When you do get closer to the Gorilla’s, your personal guide will teach you how to talk to the Gorilla’s to assure them that you mean no harm with your presence. And with the Bwindi Forest being home to 350 species of birds, 324 species of trees and a huge population of magnificent butterflies, your trek is guaranteed to be full of ooo’s and ahhh’s.
So when you return from your honeymoon, imagine the reaction of your friends and family when you tell them that you ‘trekked and talked to Gorilla’s’!
Outback Balloon Flight
If your ideal honeymoon is more of a laid back adventure then an Outback Balloon Flight would be a perfect activity for you. An early morning start adds to the overall romance of a balloon flight as you capture the stars at their brightest and the stunning sunrise over the MacDonnell mountain range from aloft.
You will experience the vastness, beauty and peacefulness of the Australian Outback in the very best way possible. And when your get back down the earth, a beautiful gourmet breakfast in the bush including champagne will be set out ready for you.
There are various balloon flights over the different states in Australia; you have just got to decide whether you would prefer to see the Outback, the city or the magnificent coastline from above.
Great Barrier Reef private charter
A private yacht sailing the Great Barrier Reef sounds fantastic doesn’t it? Not only can you hire a private yacht for as long as you like; you also get a captain, a professional chef and your very own hostess.
Exploring the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef from a luxury yacht is a honeymoon not to be forgotten! As well as relaxing onboard your yacht, you can also snorkel through the amazing gardens of coral, swim among the turtles or stop for a romantic stroll along the coastline or through the Daintree rainforest– the world really is your oyster!
Another point to note is that your whole charter experience is entirely bespoke from where you sail to where you stop and what you eat to what activities you take part in.
So if you are looking for a combination of outstanding natural beauty, tranquil perfection and privacy on your honeymoon, a private charter on the coast of Queensland may be just what you are looking for.
